Dr. Kai Chen is a Professor of Radiology, Radiation Oncology, and Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Southern California (USC) and a Full Member of the USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center. He brings extensive experience spanning academia, industry, and government, with a proven track record of leading multidisciplinary programs from preclinical discovery through clinical translation. Dr. Chen's research focuses on the development of innovative radiopharmaceuticals for molecular imaging and targeted radiotherapy to improve disease diagnosis, guide treatment selection, and enhance therapeutic outcomes. He has authored more than 80 peer-reviewed publications in leading journals, including J Nucl Med, Science Advances, J Am Chem Soc, ACS Nano, and J Med Chem. He is also a co-inventor on more than 20 U.S. and international patents covering novel imaging agents and therapeutic technologies. In addition to his scientific contributions, Dr. Chen plays an active leader in the scientific community. He has served as a reviewer for major funding agencies, including the U.S. NIH and DoD, as well as for more than 90 scientific journals. He currently serves on the editorial boards of 8 international peer-reviewed journals. Recognized for his leadership in the field, Dr. Chen is the Immediate Past President of the Radiopharmaceutical Sciences Council of the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging.
