Prof. Dr. Shuren Li is a Professor at Department of Biomedical Imaging and Image-guided Therapy, Medical University of Vienna, Vienna, Austria. He received his MD from the University of Vienna in 1993. He started his University Assistant and Resident Physician as well as Research Fellow in 1993 in University Hospital of University of Vienna (General Hospital of Vienna) and became a Senior Physician for Internal Medicine as well as Nuclear Medicine and tenure Professor for Nuclear Medicine in 2001. His research interests include development of molecular imaging methods for better understanding of tumorangiogenesis, early diagnosis of disease and monitoring therapy response. Dr. Li has published over 200 peer-reviewed papers and some book chapters. He has been recognized with numerous awards, including Research Prize of the First Group Bank AG of Austrian, Mallinckrodt Prize and Wolfgang Denk Prize. He is an elected Fellow of the European Group on Graves’ Orbitopathy (EUGOGO) (Principal Endocrinologist in Austrian Group) and elected Fellow of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts, Fellow of European Association of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (EANMMI); Fellow of European Thyroid Association (ETA), Fellow of Austrian Society for Nuclear Medicine and Biology (OGNMB), Fellow of the World Association of Radiopharmaceutical and Molecular Therapy (WARMTH), Council Member of Specialty Committee of Internal Medicine of World Federation of Chinese Medicine Society, and an editorial board member of international journals, such as Biology.
