Prof Bom is the editor-in-chief of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging, and the professor of nuclear medicine at the Chonnam National University Medical School (CNUMS) and Hospital, Gwangju, Korea. He graduated from CNUMS at 1982 and was trained internal medicine and nuclear medicine in Korea. He worked as the deputy director and general director of CNU Hwasun Hospital from 2006 to 2010, as the president of the Korean Society of Nuclear Medicine from 2008 to 2010, as the chairman of ARCCNM from 2010 to 2013, and again from 2016 to 2022, and as the president of the Asia Oceania Federation of Nuclear Medicine and Biology (AOFNMB) from 2012 to 2016. He is in the editorial board of the European Journal of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (EJNMMI), Asia Oceania Journal of Nuclear Medicine and Biology (AOJNMB) and Annals of Nuclear Cardiology (ANC). He published more than 300 peer reviewed papers and 22 books/chapters. His research interests are radioiodine therapy for thyroid cancer and cardiac hybrid imaging.
