DR MING-RONG ZHANG
Professor Department of Advanced Nuclear Medicine Sciences National Institutes for Quantum Science and Technology Chiba, Japan Dr. Ming-Rong Zhang is a director of Department of Advanced Nuclear Medicine Sciences, Institute for Quantum Medical Science, National Institutes for Quantum Science and Technology (QST) of Japan.
Dr. Zhang received his BS from China Pharmaceutical University. He then moved to Japan and obtained his PhD in medicinal chemistry from the University of Okayama in 1993 under the supervision of Professor Masatoshi Yamato. After a five-year research program at a private company, he joined the Molecular Probe Program in the Molecular Imaging Center, National Institute of Radiological Sciences (NIRS) in1998 under the directorship of Dr. Kazutoshi Suzuki and was promoted to leader of the Radiochemistry Team in 2006. In the spring of 2012, he was promoted to director of the Molecular Probe Program of the NIRS. He specializes in the development and production of novel positron emission tomography (PET) radiotracers for brain and cancer imaging in clinical uses. He is also performing the development of new labeling techniques and reactions for radiopharmaceuticals. Recently, He has started to develop alpha and beta nuclide-labeled radiopharmaceuticals for targeted-radionuclide-therapy (TRT) in cancer etc. He has contributed to over 430 peer-reviewed original papers and granted 20 patents. |
